With the AAI 10km Road Race incorporated into the Great Ireland Run, a field of 11,000 runners turned up in the Phoenix Park. A few more might have turned up if they had not been hit by the air travel restrictions.
Pat Collins (38.43) retained his National M60 10km Road Title. Mairead Murphy (41.28) also ran well to finish in 5th in the W40 category.
Matthew Blyth (44.12), Maeve Walsh (49.11) and Hilary Cadogan (53.32) also competed strongly.
